Short answer

How do I photocopy my ID for a passport application?

Photocopy the front and back of your ID, such as a driver's license, on plain white 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Print on one side only and keep the copy legible. Bring the original ID too. Your citizenship evidence needs its own single-sided copy as well.

Key takeaways

  • Front and back, single-sided.
  • Standard letter-size white paper.
  • Bring the original and the copy.
  • No reduced or enlarged images that are hard to read.

Full answer

Acceptance facilities may turn away applications with double-sided or unreadable copies. Some offices make copies for a fee, but don't count on it.
