Corrections policy

How to tell us something is wrong, how we verify it, and how quickly we fix it.

Last reviewed: August 31, 2026

Our promise

If something on this site is wrong, we want to know, and we will fix it fast and in public. Accuracy matters more to us than looking right.

How to report an error

  • Use the Report incorrect information form in the sidebar of any office, agency, embassy, courier, or photo-store page — it attaches the exact record for us.
  • Or email corrections@passportoffices.com with the page address, what is wrong, and the correct information.
  • A link to an official or operator source makes a correction much faster to confirm.

What happens next

  1. Your report enters a moderation queue and is acknowledged within 2 business days.
  2. We check the claim against the official dataset or the operator’s own page.
  3. Confirmed: we update the record, refresh its last-verified date, and log the change in our internal audit trail.
  4. Unconfirmed: if we cannot verify either version, we remove the disputed field rather than keep a value we do not trust, and hold the page out of the search index until it is sound.
  5. Reports we cannot act on are closed with a short explanation when you leave an email.

Timelines

  • Urgent (a fee, closure, or eligibility error that could cost someone a trip): corrected or the field removed within 1 business day.
  • Standard (hours, phone, address, typo): usually within 5 business days.
  • Bulk (a whole dataset appears stale): rolled into the next official re-import, with a note on the affected pages.

How corrections are shown

Directory pages display a last-reviewed date and the source they were built from, so an updated record is visibly fresh. For substantive changes to a guide or article — a changed fee, rule, or recommendation — we add a dated correction note at the foot of the page rather than silently editing it. Typos and formatting fixes are made without a note.

Removal and takedown requests

A facility operator or business can ask to have a listing corrected or removed by writing from a verifiable address to corrections@passportoffices.com. Public government facility data will normally remain listed, but we will correct any detail that is wrong. Reviews are removed when they contain personal information, abuse, or content that violates our terms. Legal notices go to legal@passportoffices.com.

What we cannot correct

We cannot change government records, fees, processing times, or appointment availability — only how accurately we report them. If the official source itself is wrong, contact the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778 and tell us too, so we can add a note.
